AMCC Storage combines an advanced non-blocking switched fabric architecture StorSwitch™, with SATA drives to deliver a highly scalable hardware RAID storage solution. Each controller boasts a PCI 66MHz custom ASIC that combines an integrated RISC processor, PCI bridge (64-bit, 66MHz) and XOR RAID engine. The 3ware 8506 offers the most popular Serial ATA RAID 5 as well as Levels 0,1,10 and JBOD.
